Are you a fan of The Fountainhead or Atlas Shrugged? Are you interested in learning more about Ayn Rand’s unique vision of human life? Come to one of the Ayn Rand Institute’s annual conferences for an in-depth exploration of Rand’s philosophy. You’ll learn from experts on Rand’s ideas and meet lots of other students eager to stay up all hours debating the existence of free will or the role of government in a free society.

ARI hosts two annual conferences: a weekend student conference, AynRandCon, in the fall, and a longer conference, OCON, in early summer. Thanks to the generosity of ARI donors, students attending either event can receive a scholarship support covering most travel and lodging costs. Jeremy Dias Scholarship for Diversity

The Jeremy Dias Scholarship seeks to recognize a youth that has taken initiative in addressing discrimination in their school or community.

Applicants must be Canadian citizens/residents; and must be a high school or Cegep students entering accredited post-secondary institutions, or students currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution.

The ideal winner(s) of this scholarship will be student(s) who have worked to eliminate discrimination within their school or community, as demonstrated by their application essay and references. Those who work within their secondary school or community to address homophobia/heterosexism will be given special consideration.

Applications (and required documents) must be submitted by mail to the Canadian Centre for Gender & Sexual Diversity by August 15; winner(s) will be selected and contacted by Sept 15. IAPMO Essay Scholarship

ESSAY TOPIC

"With which like-minded organizations should IWSH partner and how would these specific partnerships advance and enhance the IWSH mission to deliver clean water and safe sanitation to those most in need?"

PURPOSE
To acquaint the uninitiated with the crucial importance the plumbing industry plays in our everyday lives. To introduce students to the global impact of IWSH projects.  

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Students must provide a copy of their current full-time schedule, school transcripts, or acceptance letter with their submission.

Must be a current high school senior; or enrolled or accepted as a full-time (12 credit hours) student in an accredited technical school, community college, trade school, four-year accredited college or university, or an apprentice program.

International students are eligible. Please submit proper school documentation with the essay.

GENERAL RULES AND REQUIREMENTS
ANY SUBMISSION THAT IS MISSING SOME OR ALL OF THE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

1. The deadline for essay submissions is 11:59pm (PT) on April 30, 2020. Late submissions will not be accepted.
2. Each submission must include a cover page containing the student’s name, address, phone number, and email. We must be able to contact you, if we have any questions or comments regarding your entry.
3. Essays must be written on the topic noted above, and must be an original essay.
4. One essay per student.
5. Essays should be no fewer than 800 words and no more than 1,600 words. The essay cover page, added footnotes, references or citation page does not contribute to the word count.
6. Entries must be typed, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman or an equivalent font with a one-inch margin on all sides of the page. Standards of content and style from MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, 8th ed., will be expected for: 
   a. Documentation of sources in the text of your essay; 
   b. The format of the list of works cited; 
   c. Margins and indentation; and, 
   d. Bibliography.
7. Essays MUST be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Essays submitted in any other format will not be considered.

Annually, the BC Association of Agricultural Fairs & Exhibitions offers two scholarship opportunities;

$5000 Lisa Huus Memorial Bursary

Each year the Huus Family, in partnership with Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island (formerly Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children) and generous donors, award bursaries to support the education of students with disabilities.

The Lisa Huus Memorial Fund provides bursaries up to $5,000 annually per recipient, to assist persons with disabilities to undertake or continue their post-secondary education at an accredited post-secondary institution in British Columbia. Bursaries may be used for items such as tuition fees, textbooks, equipment, transportation, residence and support worker costs.

The bursary was established in 1988 by the family of Lisa Pauline Huus, a sociology student at the University of Victoria. "Lisa fought for her rights to go to university and be treated just like any other student," says her mother Annie Huus. "We established this fund so that students with physical challenges like Lisa can access much needed financial support to pursue their educational dreams."

Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship Extended

Since it was incorporated in 1892, Burnaby has produced many fine athletes.
The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame was formed in 2001 to honour Burnaby’s past athletic excellence. The Hall also encourages future excellence in athletics, academics and sportsmanship by offering $1,000 scholarships to a male athlete and a female athlete from Burnaby.

Milennium STEM scholarship

. We are excited to extend a scholarship invitation to your STEM students!

At Millennium, we believe that all youth deserve the opportunity to feel empowered in their chosen fields of interest. Through hosting annual events, we emphasize the importance of striving to achieve gender equity in fields of STEM. Each year we provide the opportunity for students to apply for a STEM scholarship: Two scholarships will be awarded, each valued at $500. If successful, scholarship recipients are encouraged to invest their grant into opportunities that will further their passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Charlene Reaveley Bursary $1000

The Charlene Reaveley Children's Charity is a registered charity, located in the lower mainland and serves all of BC.  We support children and their families who have lost a loved one with services such as fully-funded counselling, bursaries, camp funding, a toy drive and a lending library of books and resources.

CRCCS would like to offer a $1000 bursary to graduating students who have lost a parent and/or sibling.

To qualify for a $1000 CRCCS bursary, the student will be required to meet the criteria.  The criteria includes;

        *       Grade 12 graduating student
        *       Loss of a parent and/or a sibling
        *       Enrolled in a certified post secondary program within the same year of graduating
        *       Involved in the community/volunteer work
        *       a BC Resident
